Hi, I’m Liz
I’m a certified end-of-life doula (aka death doula) with proficiency micro-credentialling awarded from the National End-Of-Life-Doula Alliance (NEDA). I also currently work at a consulting firm in healthcare revenue cycle as a manager in Charge Description Master (CDM) and Revenue Integrity.
I’m 38, have three little boys (#boymom) and live in Oakland County. I love puzzles, birds, nature, and autumn. I have a Great Pyrenees Mix named Isla who is two and loves hiking with our family. I listen to too many podcasts and want to read too many books. I would be honored to join your path in you or your loved one’s transition.
Between the ages of 19-23 I, along with my mother, cared for my grandmother who lived by herself and was in hospice care. She had nurses at the house all the time. Not only did I have the perspective of caring for her from within our family, but I was also able to witness the incredible impact the nurses had in the smallest of gestures. The example that stands out the most is the nurse painting my grandmas’ nails. She liked having her nails painted but hadn’t been able to do them in years. She loved it. I kept thinking to myself, “why didn’t I think of that?” I want to be able to comfort you or your loved one and do what I can in my power to advocate for your wishes and dignity.
Transitioning from this earthly life takes just as much of our energy as it does to come into it, and I aim to educate patients and families on the dying process, what to expect, and how I can help them navigate this journey.
I look forward to talking with you,
Peace,
Liz
